Black Lake Park

Baron Blake of Black Lake is the owner and co-founder of On The Buses Software (OTBUS), a company which specialises in making games for young children.  Some of it’s best selling titles so far include Teletubbies go to La-La Land, Postman Pat Goes for a Drive and Harry the Hamster Gets a New Machine gun.  Baron Blake has teamed up with Microsoft for two new releases aimed at adults - Leisure Suit Larry 14 (the Squirrel Files) and a first person shoot-em-up based on 70’s TV show, Blakes 7.  Other titles which haven’t fared so well include Sewerage Works Tycoon and extreme Bird Watching.  Baron Blake had Black Lake Park built in 1971 on the site of a disused uranium mine. The latent radiation has produced some strange mutations in the plants and vegetables growing in the extensive gardens, a situation Baron Blake has turned to his advantage by marketing the more unusual varieties. Baron Blake, known affectionately by his team of Nigerian gardeners as Big Pansy, recently sold a two headed rose which glows in the dark for $1 million. Much of Baron Blake’s fortune came from the invention of a 99 hole punch card which was available in a choice of 3 colours and took the computer industry by storm. BB Punchcards was sold to Trans-National Mechanical Computational Machine Corporation of Japan for $2.3 million 1 year before punch cards were rendered obsolete by more modern methods of data storage. The subsequent collapse of Trans-National Mechanical Computation Machine Corporation of Japan precipitated the downfall of 183 Japanese banks and a 1,000% devaluation of the Japanese currency.  Most contemporary accounts suggest that this went by largely un-noticed by most Japanese people.  Baron Blake is a generous supporter of the Camping Up For Boys charity which provides camping holidays for deprived inner-city children in New York.  This year, Baron Blake is planning a sponsored 100 mile solo unicycle ride blindfolded to raise money for his charity.
